My entire life, I have been dedicated to the study of music. From my early childhood education to present day gigs and songwriting, music has always been a centerpiece of my life. Having these core fundamentals down prepares my students to be able to play any style of music they choose. For all beginning students, I start with the Suzuki books. They introduce new techniques in a comprehensible way that helps build upon fundamentals before progressing to more advanced techniques. After a bit with Suzuki, I like to add the Dotzauer etude book, which helps to focus on one technique per etude, building on what we learned earlier in Suzuki. Ukulele: Ukulele is a perfect instrument for children who are eager to explore the world of music but might not be ready for a larger instrument, or for those who love the unique sound it creates. The ukulele has recently become quite popular and is featured in many styles of new music. Students will use Hal Leonard method book as well as other music supplied by the instructor.
