Hi! I'm a dedicated drummer and passionate instructor who loves embarking, with my students, into the endless possibility of rhythm. I've been living in Austin for 8 years and have played with many bands, all over town. In the meantime, I have had the opportunity to enjoy giving hundreds of lessons to all levels of students. In 2006, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Composition. Read More

For beginning and young students, we always start with fundamental concepts - producing a good sound, developing a sense of rhythm and pulse, building music reading skills, and fostering good practice habits. Once these skills have been developed, we progess to working solo repertoire and ensemble music. As student age and ability levels increase, I like to give the student increased input in the direction of study. No matter what, we keep things interesting and engaging, and fun! Read More

I have gotten the chance to perform at the International Tuba Euphonium Festival at Emory University in Atlanta, GA back in summer 2017 to become a better tuba player and overall brass player. For beginners, I will start with teaching basic knowledge about the "Guitar", then teaching some basic playing mechanic for hands to practice and warm up. After that, I will start teaching some basic theory along with playing examples which makes sure that the students will understand what they are playing and know how music works and how to use it. The goal is able to play open chords, bar chords, power chords, scales and being able to apply those to simple pop and rock to basic level in two month. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I like a light, fun atmosphere during lessons, one that reflects the learning style and personality of each student. There are some not-so-fun things about learning music (practice schedules and repetition) but there are plenty of resources out there to help students stay interested and motivated. I like to reward accomplishments (stickers are always awesome) and offer opportunities for improvement. I work for a positive and balanced experience for every student. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
My methods combine musical theory in lay terms. This is an easy theory to grasp. Accompanied by technical skills I develop in my students through repetition and muscle-memory exercises. Most imprtant aspect of the musical experience is to be jamming with other musicians. Read More
