Instruments: Piano Voice
I have started teaching shortly before college, and have a proven track record of working as an independent instructor and part of teaching collectives. I am a member in good standing with both MTNA and MSMTA, and have been consistently teaching students out of my home studio for the past 15 years. With younger students, I prefer emphasizing habit formation, such as setting a practice schedule, regularly committing to a set amount of practicing time, and develop a passion for the piano. I have had the pleasure of teaching for the past 5 years publicly and privately. I have lead masterclasses and group lessons as well as private lessons and large ensembles. I. have had the pleasure of performing with Symphonic Bands, Orchestras, Jazz Bands, and combos during my time at school helping me to demonstrate and teach various styles. Read More
Instruments: Violin
I have helped students achieve their goals as young as 4 years old and into their college years! I am trained in the Suzuki Method, but I also feel comfortable teaching any preference and learning style. I particularly enjoy teaching younger musicians and have focused my work on beginner students, as young as preschool. However, because of my extensive performing experience, I have been able to see many of my students into universities where they have continued to play the violin at top levels. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Djembe
My methods are largely based on learning the basics of theory and how to apply it intuitively in music (no matter what genre). I teach this at a patient pace, with teaching diatonic scales first, then transcending those scales into arpeggiated patterns. Learning this way not online teaches the mind, but also teaches the muscle memory of a person to remember the basics before moving to an intermediate level of theory. Read More

To make the learning experience fun and engaging. I first introduce concepts; then connect to well known songs and music that allow you to understand and appreciate the vital concepts and themes being illustrated. Together we set realistic goals, learn from where we may have missed the mark, and celebrate our achievements. This allows me to tailor your lesson so that you may gain the absolute most at of each and everyone. Read More
Instruments: Piano Flute Recorder
Methods are tailored around the individual needs and goals of the student. Fundamentals in music theory are balanced with repertoire and lessons focus on developing practice skills that the student can use outside the lesson. The Suzuki method is ideal for beginning flute students, particularly young students. This approach allows students to become comfortable holding the instrument, producing a solid tone, and training the ear, before introducing notation. For beginning pianists, the Bastien series works well in terms of breaking down repertoire into manageable pieces and marking students' progress in early study. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
I have taught many students of various musical styles for the past 20 years. From some that just want to play the guitar in their living room or treat it as a hobby, to students that want to pursue a career in music. Every student is unique , so i utilize various methods and different approaches to suit each individual's needs and capabilities. In my many years of teaching, what I have realized is that proper technique should be emphasized as early as possible so that the student will not carry bad traits both in practice and in performance.
