My area of expertise is Sight Reading. This is an essential aspect of learning to play any instrument. A good sight reader is always able to learn their pieces faster and be better performers. For piano students, I use the Faber method, which I believe is very practical and easy to use. The repertoire includes light classical, contemporary and lyrical songs. I teach proper hand position and posture, work on scales, basic music terminology and playing technique. I have performed at over 2000 events, taught students of all ages along the way, and also have taught flute and music theory at the college level. I am semi-retired now, and enjoy playing first flute in a symphonic wind ensemble, playing wedding ceremonies with a harpist, pianist, or acoustic guitarist, as well playing in a jazz quartet.
