Once a good foundation is established, I like to move into solo and ensemble repertoire to develop lyricism and expression. Then I go into 30 min of song learning and the last hour is music theory and teaching a little bit of composition I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
