Instruments: Piano
I began teaching private piano lessons when I was a junior in college. I taught all ages including children, teenagers, and adults. I encourage consistent and regular practicing with my students because that is how one succeeds at playing an instrument. I teach students based on their own individual development and pace, but I do push them so that they can improve and become better musicians. I always schedule a recital at the end of the semester and encourage students to perform in festivals and competitions so that they have opportunities to perform. Read More

I taught my first lesson 5 years ago when I was an under graduate. I began teaching guitar to the public part time at age 19 in the music department of my community college. From there, I went on to a university and continued to teach guitar, bass, and voice while I finished up on getting my performance degree. Ironically enough, some of the best lessons I ever learned in music school weren't even how to play, it was how to teach. Read More

I am a friendly, easy going musician and teacher with a passion for not only music, but helping others succeed in their musical ventures and desires. I picked up my first guitar at the age of 13 and have been hooked since! I recently graduated in December 2016 from the University of Alabama with a BA in Management. Luckily, my time at UA allowed me to expand my music hobby into a way of life as I have been in several successful musical acts and bands over my time as student. Read More

As a realist, I understand that each student will have their own pace when it comes to learning music. With that being said, I want to see students succeed when setting their goals, which means I will be able to understand their capabilities along with pushing them to new heights. I am hopeful that students seeing their goals being accomplished will keep them eager to learn new things and I am more than happy to acknowledge those achievements and help the student recognize their progress. I listen to students play in order to assess their level. I then formulate a strategy for improvement. I log all lessons into a database so that students can reflect backand gauge progress. This approach ensures that both student and instructor are accountable with the tasks assigned. Read More

I prefer to focus on the joy of making music and the satisfaction of learning through accomplishment! In order to achieve this, I will try my best to keep lessons upbeat (pun intended), fast paced, and fun! Especially for younger students, I will use games and interactive activities to keep the student engaged, although I do believe games are good for the soul at all ages. I will give detailed feedback to students and teach the student at whatever pacing works best for them. Read More
