For 15 years, I conducted church and professional choirs and participated in many performances as an opera singer on stage. I began teaching during my time in college. I have been teaching private lessons for over 5 years now and have seen a huge improvement in all of my students. I encourage a regular practice schedule and assign weekly studies for the guitar. I encourage all my students to learn to read music but have also found that having them learn with their ear can be beneficial. I have a wide experience performing solo, chamber and orchestral music performing in various genras, from classical music to more modern and some types of folk classical music. I am also a big fan of using duets to build listening skills and fluidity (and most students think duets are fun!). For piano lessons, I have experience with a variety of methods; each has its strengths and weaknesses. It also allowed me the opportunity to perform in famous cathedrals throughout Europe in my Senior Year of High School. The ability to inspire others is what motivates me most in this profession and in life in general! I define the art of singing as "Vocal Gymnastics" and focus on exercises that teach the techniques needed for creating optimal sounds.
