From 2011-2012, I interned at the National Guitar Workshop in New Milford, CT where I study pedagogy (teaching styles) and got to attend a master class with shred-guitar heavy weight Paul Gilbert. After New Paltz, I moved to NYC and earned my Masters Degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and taking advantage of the cultural offerings of the big city before moving back to Buffalo, NY in 2013. I am an actively performing classical violinist from New York City. With a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the Greatbatch School of Music, I seek to have an active dual teaching/performing professional life with an emphasis on chamber music. I have spent the last several years as the concert master of the Houghton Symphony and as the first violin in the Bravada String Quartet. For all students, I begin with asking them to show me what they already know, and to explain to me where they want to take their playing and what their goals for the future are. I then design a curriculum unique to each student's interests and needs to keep them engaged and having fun. For beginner students I like to emphasize fundamentals through playing simple and recognizable chords and riffs instead of only focusing on exercises, which can makes students bored and discourage them.
