After each lesson, I wrote down their homework, and if a parent is there, I go over their progress. If it's an adult student, I obviously don't have to do that, but I enjoy all ages, and have students 4-82 currently! I even go to teach my 82 year old student, at her assisted living place! The difference between a kid and an adult student, is usually, that the child notices the correctly notes, while the adult thinks they had to be 7 to learn. Read More

Half musician and half computer programmer, I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition. Since then I have been performing original electronic music in the greater NYC/Fairfield area. I've completed a CELTA certificate from Cambridge University and have adapted their teaching methods to that of the language of music. For all beginning students I start by having the student set a goal. Some goals past students have set are learning to improvise, learn a specific piece, prepare for a musical competition/performance, prepare for a college audition or be able to express themselves through there instrument.
