Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet Bassoon
I began teaching private lessons when starting college, and have maintained a studio of various woodwind students of various ages since 2011. In the time between then, I have been involved as a private instructor, small chamber coach, full band director, and covered any other position possible for many schools; I have ample experience in teaching and performing many styles common in the school system. My experience has led me to find ways to work with students as individuals, and adapt to their wants and needs to keep them engaged in the learning process. Read More

Hi, I'm Sarah! With more than 10 years classical music training and education, I strongly believe my passion in music and solid singing technique can help my students improve their musicality and skills. In 2021, I graduated from College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati with a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance. As a mezzo-soprano, I had multiple performing experience in opera and chorus, singing roles like Hnsel in Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel, Meg in Verdi's Falstaff, Cherubino in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, and so on. My teaching experience began in 2011. A friend of mine had bought a guitar and did not know a single thing about the instrument. he asked me if I could teach him how to play. After a few weeks of methods that I taught him and, exercises he was able to play the guitar without frustration. I always tell my students when they are starting out to give themselves at least 15 minutes a day to keep up on exercises to build up muscle memory. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Viola Music Keyboard
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for violin students and piano adventures for piano students. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. During the lessons, I'll also let them come up with their own music or I'll play a duet with students. That way they're not only learning the instruments as well as being creative. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Ukulele
The eventual goal is to teach a student how to teach themselves. I've found if you mold a musician you're making someone whose interest in music will persevere, always taking that next step, and always finding more interesting and challenging questions. It’s within this gradual cultivation of curiosity and knowledge where I’ve found the most joy and I see it as a responsibility to share that place of joy with my students. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Viola
For violin and viola lessons, I start my beginning students off with the violin/viola instrument hold as well as the bow hold. Once one has gotten the feel for holding the instrument as well as the bow, I teach the student the open strings of the instrument, followed by a one octave scale, with basic note reading exercises. After that, I begin the student on the Suzuki method. For piano students, I start by teaching beginning students three notes in treble clef (right hand) and bass clef (left hand). Read More
