Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I attended the LA County High School for the Art for three years, through which time I became serious about learning music. I went on to earn the Bob Cole Conservatory Scholarship at CalState Long Beach. My favorite courses were Brass Chamber Music and my various music history courses. For beginning students and children, I typically start with the basic essential fundamentals of playing the trumpet. Once the student has progressed, I will introduce more appropriate material to advance the student with. For adults and more experienced students I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and especially fun, no matter their ability level.
