Music Lessons in Calabasas, CA

Instruments: Guitar

I love teaching the art of music. I get very excited when I see a student switch on to a new technique or idea that I've helped them realize. Most of my lessons have been for beginners who just wanted to get started to novice players who wanted to learn more. Guitar is a fun instrument with many applications and methods a player can use. I strive to bring those methods into my lessons so that my student gets the most out of their musical experience. Read More

When my students first start I start them on the Suzuki method until they get to book 4. While they are learning from that certain method I do encourage students to tell me what songs they enjoy listening to and we will choose easy versions of the song that keeps them motivated and excited. Once my students pass book 4 of Suzuki we start getting advanced music including scale books, etudes, and concertos. Read More

Instruments: Guitar Music Classical Guitar

I believe that learning classical guitar should be both inspiring and fun! I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel excited to explore the instrument and express themselves through music. I tailor each lesson to the students individual interests, goals, and pace, whether they are a child, teen, or adult. I love helping students fall in love with the guitar as I have. I focus not only on technique and repertoire but also on cultivating creativity, musical expression, and confidence. Read More

In sitting down to play and not be nervous you will mess up, but love the fact that you will mess up and it's okay and part of this process. Read More

I try to have as much fun as possible while still maintaining a high expectiation of performance.  I am, by trade and training, a comedian, so jokes and laughter abound. Most of my students might say I'm not as funny as I think I am, but we still have fun! I am, however a stickler for learning the basics of music theory and correct use of vocabulary. Students won't move on to the next level until I know they have a firm grasp of prior concepts. Read More
