I started tutoring students on the flute at a very young age and have done it off and on since then. I like to play with students and encourage performances and help with competitions. When I was in school, I competed in solo and ensemble competitions and also performed in All-State Band and other honor bands. I won a scholarship to attend Cornell University (1973) where I was admitted to the music department where I studied keyboards, operatic voice, music theory, arranging, orchestral scoring and conducting.
