I began teaching as part of my college degree curriculum as a student and my love for teaching expanded into private lessons which continue into the present day. I really enjoy helping my students find and cultivate a real love for music. I encourage regular and devoted practice time in order for my students to enjoy the rewarding experience that music will bring their lives. I look for the individual goals that my students would like to accomplish and provide a path for them to be able to achieve those goals. Read More

My teaching experience spans the music store environment and private students. I started out giving private lessons in students homes over 15 years ago, eventually becoming a guitar teacher at a local music store. I'm a big advocate of having fun while practicing. This is called playing for a reason. Music can sometimes be viewed as this big mountain to climb and seemingly, a task. Baby steps is the way to think here. Read More

I studied music theory and liberal arts at Lakeland Community College and multiple instruments at the nearby Fine Arts Association. Read More

I try to be as laid-back and disarming as possible. Ultimately, playing music is supposed to be fun and so I never want to stop communicating that to students of any age. I have a lot of students who have been with me for years and I believe that speaks to my ability to connect with them on a musical and personal level and make lessons fun but always productive. My teaching style is to get the beginners and intermediate players to able to get to the point where really enjoying their lessons while really improving their skills. This makes me feel very good to see them grow musically. I set reasonable goals for them to strive for and help them get to the next level. By trying to find out what inspires the student, this will make a huge impact on the student's interest to continuing to perform at their best. Read More

I have taught lessons on-and-off throughout my college career. This began about five years ago when a few of my friends communicated interest in learning various instruments. What started as casual pointers then developed into structured half-hour lessons each week. As a music therapist, I also have experience teaching adaptive lessons for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Students are encouraged to select repertoire of their choice in order to make the learning process more personal and enjoyable. Read More

I started teaching at a small music store in Hollywood, Florida called The Banjo Shop. As the store specialized in Bluegrass music, I was hired to teach students the pop and rock songs being played at that time. I taught there for three years before relocating to North East Ohio. After taking some years off to raise a family I started teaching at GitterPicker String Factory in Twinsburg in 2005. In 2008 I opened my own music studio in Northfield, Ohio called the Olde 8 Guitar Studio and have been teaching ever since! Read More
