I started teaching guitar by making videos early 2021 and then I started teaching classes on takelessons.com. I have been teaching classes and students ever since then. I created a guitar course with takelessons.com and you can see it on takelessons live. I also made a practice guitar course onthinkific.com on guitar chords and guitar chord theory. I enjoy helping students learn how to play guitar or bass guitar. Read More

I began playing piano for church choirs in my hometown. During my college years, my private lessons experience began when I would give pointers to my fellow music majors who had to pass piano proficiency as part of their degree requirement. Furthermore, I am from the school of thought of concentrated practice. I help students identify the length of time they can concentrate without exhausting their attention. I always want students to have in mind the goals they want to accomplish in taking lessons such as recitals, competitions, showcasing and/or enrichment. Read More

My performance and education career began as early as my freshman year of college. I have been fortunate to perform over 1,800 professional commitments in my career as well as teaching roughly 25 students. Some performance highlights of my career have been performing on four national tours, playing two contracts with the Hershey Park band, recording with different artists, and of course performing with the Marine Corps and the Air Force bands. I always keep each lesson based on actual music so all that is learned is applied to making music. I believe that you must learn something and then apply it to a real song for that concept to stick and more importantly so you understand how music works. The advanced payer learns music theory, scales, chords, song structure and cycle of 5ths as well as how music works and how to compose. Read More

Ted still owns his teaching studio located in Collingswood, New Jersey. Under his teaching was where I learned to figure out songs by ear and learned music theory. In my late 20s I move to the city of Philadelphia where I played lead guitar in a four piece rock band, and learned how to be a working musician. Soon I developed “on the job training”, and understood how to be a performer on stage and knowing how to lay back while the vocalist sang. Read More

My love of teaching became stronger than ever after I recovered from a vocal disorder that changed my life. Everything I learned from that experience encouraged me to spread awarness of vocal health. I love teaching people new things especially those interested in music. Sharing what I know from life experiences and music therapy hands on observations is not only rewarding but continues to help me to grow. As for teaching experience, I have given lessons to non-music majors while in school and also taught music while studying abroad in Jamaica.. Read More

For students who are children I like to start to start learning rhythms through common children’s songs to show how easy music can be. Depending on the instrument, one of the many Hal Leonard books is always a good option. If they are a little older, I will use music that they like to teach how music theory and fundamental skills makes up all the musi they enjoy. We will often learn songs that speak to them and I will use their favorite genres to curate new songs to teach and show them new material and how it relates to their instrument. Read More
