 I implement materials of my own design mixed with songs of the students choosong and tastes, and typically have them up and playing a song or two that they like in a couple of lessons.  All ages, styles, and expereince levels are welcome. For reading,  I like to use a combination of notation, tabs and chord diagrams.  And while I dont absolutely insist that the student learn to read notation, I do strongly encourage it. Read More

Teaching can also be learning, because there is a "two-way street" of communication between the student and the teacher as each collaborate on and develop the learning process. I get rewards for being a major part of that process. Additionally, nothing is more gratifying than to see one's student find their passion and exceed expectations. Classical guitar is my expertise, I earned both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Cincinnati, where I served as a Teacher's Assistant and taught multiple guitar courses. I love it when I see a student smiling because of their hard work and dedication to their instrument. Therefore, it is important that each student progresses at her or his own pace. I always encourage my students to start slow and to not get frustrated. Recent performance venues include: Cincinnati’s Music Hall, Eastern Kentucky University, Music For All Seasons, Universidad Espíritu Santo in Ecuador, Pikeville University, Christ Church Cathedral, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Incontri Chirarristici di Gargnano in Italy. In addition to a wealth of teaching and performing experience, he has attained a Masters of Music Performance at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music with Clare Callahan, a Bachelors of Music Performance at Eastern Kentucky University with Dennis Davis, and a performance certificate at the Incontri Chirarristici di Gargnano in Italy with Oscar Ghiglia.
