I like to start with review of the last lesson and any homework assigned for the student to work on. I completed a Masters Degree in Music (Saxophone Performance) with an emphasis in Jazz Studies in 2016 from the Lamont School of Music and have experience working with underprivileged students with varying income backgrounds. I approach teaching students with an individual needs based curriculum and am mindful of their ability and goals. Regardless of technical ability, we will make music during lesson 1. Younger guitar students will work through the Hal Leonard Guitar for Kids Method with me in order to establish comfortability. From there we will progress into learning songs, developing musical interests, and playing our first performance. Adult students bring their own experience and interests that will be used to guide lessons individually.
