I have been inspired with music since the age of 10. My dad was a big influence being profession jazz guitarist himself. He taught me so much about the guitar and other instruments. This influence has led me to be the teacher as well with guitar, bass, piano, drums and voice, which I have been doing during these years of teaching. I want the students to have fun during the teaching sessions, having them learn what style of music inspired them, and grow on that which gives me much pleasure watching them progress, thanks Al Pignataro Read More

In addition to the recording and performing experience listed above, I've been a full-time private lessons instructor since 2010. I've taught at countless local schools, but found that the freedom of teaching completely independently (or, at most, through a referral program like Musika) can't be beat. The more of my *own* students I have, the more I can focus on each one, and the more time I have to plan out their progress. Read More

I would like to listen a student on his or her level and let that guide the process, and then offer knowledge and suggestions that will help people discover or achieve their goals. It's all about the student and making the process fun to help with the challenge, and letting people see that no ones really knows for sure what they're doing so it's okay to wade in and try whatever you're interested in. For all of my students, I like to know what styles of music, songs, and artists inspire them! This is a core part of learning how to perform music and will help nourish their desire to learn. I also like to work very individually with each student; not following a set syllabus but rather finding a comfortable pace for the different needs and wants of all my students. This also includes a focus on the body and mind. Read More

I enjoy teaching students of all ages! I have taught in the public school for 35 years and have worked with over 5000 students of all ages! I enjoy creating original music in my recording studio and have written many songs. I have played guitar and sang for the Miss Washington program and performed as a solo artist as well as with other musicians. One of my favorite concerts was playing guitar for the Living Christmas Tree services at Overlake Christian Church. Read More

No matter where the student starts from, I always spend a significant amount of time in the first lesson discussing with them what they want to gain, what they are interested in, and how much time and effort they want to put into this endevor. It is important to me to understand the student so that I can cater to their needs and desires, and hopefully encourage them to continue playing music. Read More

I began teaching the guitar and beginner piano in 2012 after I graduated from UCSB and have been teaching in students’ homes and online since then. My teaching experience ranges from teaching adults who want to learn the fundamentals of classical guitar (beginning technique and sight-reading exercises) to teaching young kids interested in modern methods of playing, learning pop and rock songs, and playing solos. In 2015, I taught in afterschool programs, notably for Hancock Park Elementary School in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, for which I taught an excellent group of curious learners as we surveyed modern guitar methods, sight-reading, chords and harmonic progressions, and playing in duos.
