The books provide a very well thought out sequence of pieces that help the student learn all of the necessary skills to play the guitar in the context of actual music rather than abstract exercises, and the method encourages a lot of parental involvement which helps to make at home practice (the most important part of learning any instrument) much more effective. I Use a geometric learning model that takes the student first to learning the concept physically on the guitar. Then, as soon as they have a handle on the concept, I move Immediately to taking the raw concept into interesting examples that are in the styles that they like so they can experience it in a setting that they enjoy.
