I have had multiple different instructors throughout my life, and some of them seem to have had their own agenda and what they wanted me to be learning. My approaches change depending on a students age, experience, and personality. Every student is unique and has their own musical language to develop and it is my philosophy that unique students require unique approaches. All of that being said, I utilize lesson time as efficiently as possible to give students the tools they need to progress in their own solo practice. One of my teachers once said "I am only your teacher for an hour each week, that means for 167 hours a week you are your own teacher." For the more advanced student I find, most want to know more about technique, finding their own sound, theory and a more advanced knowledge of how to increase their abilities on guitar. I evaluate the students natural and practiced skills and build from there using a variety of techniques that I have used myself to learn the guitar on an advanced level I create my own lessons plans based on the student.
