I have worked with high school students and middle school students and find it rewarding to see them grow and progress into better musicians. I use a combination of books for flute students since they are better suitable for flute study. Some of them are for example; Gariboldi execerses and Trevor Wye along with several books with simple flute solos for beginners. For more advanced students there is also i wide variety of Etude books such as Kohler etudes or Anderson studies. For beginners on band instruments and piano, I would start them with a method book of their choosing (though I would steer them in a good direction). In New York the band directors instruct all instruments in group lessons so I am familiar with technique, tone, tuning, fingerings etc...for all band instruments.
