However, the two things that I try to keep consistent among all of my students is a solid technical foundation and curiosity for different musical styles. For beginners, I typically start with the Rubank Beginner or Intermediate method book. Their perception is different than my perception and I can learn a lot about how to teach them based on how much they may already understand or do not understand.
