I graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible Collage and took my flute lessons at Belmont University. I have had the privilege of playing with several groups including; the Tupelo MS symphony orchestra, Belmont orchestra, the Belmont Opera company, the Nashville Philharmonic and the Philharmonic flute choir. Some of my students want to go to college for music performance, and others just want to sound better in their school's band. I take that into account when choosing particular warmups and repertoire. With the piano books there are also theory workbooks that give them a chance to think about what they are actually doing when it comes to making music. I focused on performing during my undergraduate studies; then had the opportunity to share my musical talents in a different way when I began my music therapy career.
