I am a very dedicated and caring music teacher with 23 years of experience. I have taught students of all ages from early elementary school to senior citizens. All of my NYSSMA participating students have received scores of excellent or outstanding in Grades 1-4, and in the 90's on Levels 5 and 6. I use standard method books, along with personal sheets of exercises I have developed through the years. I publish my own solo books with accompaniments, which I also use. These books are primarily classical pieces, but I also use digital accompaniments for jazz and popular music. Theory and ear training are also part of my lessons. I am a passionate jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator originally from Los Angeles area. In 2018, I graduated with B.A. in Saxophone Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies at California State University, Long Beach. I am currently attending Manhattan School of Music for a Masters degree in Jazz Composition. For beginning students, I typically use one method book and one book of simple melodies.  My preferred method book is the Rubank series. The method book teaches the basics, while the melodies and songs keep things fresh and interesting for the student so they want to continue.  For advanced students, I find significant, staple pieces that any advanced musician should have in their repertoire.  This keeps the student engaged, and prepares them for anything down the road in their musical careers.
