Effective music education is both developmentally and culturally appropriate: By working with the student to understand their interests, I hope to provide them with an experience that will enrich their musical and social life outside of the work we do together. Through infancy, I believe Music Learning Theory is effective for developing musical and linguistic skills. If a student in toddlerhood/childhood shows that they have a preferred way to express themselves musically, I will tailor lessons around the Kodaly (voice), Orff (instrumental), or Dalcroze (dance) philosophies. Playing clarinet has always been a staple of my life. I started mentoring and giving private lessons to younger clarinet students in high school and continued on from there! I have traveled to students homes and worked out of my studio ever since. I like to use a good combination of technique exercises and expressive studies to give my students a well rounded education and understanding of how to perform. Read More

My experience in teaching is still growing. I have previously taught freelance back in 2010 assisting high school students prep for NYSSMA. I have taught toddlers as well as adults since then off and on but am looking to start to teach more consistently and regularly. I also have experience with children and young adults with special needs. I encourage a consistent schedule and regular practice but also like to make sure my student enjoys the music and learns to appreciate the instrument and what they are playing. Read More

I am a passionate educator and performer from the greater Boston area.  I love to see my students succeed and achieve their musical goals.  My students have gone on to the college level at University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and University of New Hampshire.  At the undergraduate level, I played with the UNH Wind Symphony and the UNH Symphony Orchestra for three years.  I have had two full solo recitals at UNH, and I have had the opportunity to be recorded on the Wind Symphony CD: The Music of Daniel Bukvitch.  Upon graduating with two degrees I moved to New York City. I love everything about music but my true passion for it lies within teaching. Seeing a student get excited about learning is what I live for and is what I strive to bring into every teaching session I do. Music can be very technical and hard to understand which is why it's my top priority to make sure everything I teach is fun and easy to understand for everyone. I've been teaching one-on-one lessons for 10 years, for saxophone, flute, and clarinet, of all levels. Read More
