I believe the most rewarding thing about being a teacher is seeing a student come into their lessons excited and passionate about their playing. One of the things I find encourages students to practice is to give them mini rewards when they successfully play a piece or etude, such as stickers or stamps. With a combination of videos for inspiration, singing for audiation, and moving for connection to the instrument and how our muscles respond to it. I believe that in the short time we have in lessons, it is more important to expose students to a variety of resources to investigate their new endeavor than it is to repeat repertoire for the sake of a quick result. Once the student has progressed and has managed to grasp fundamentals, we can proceed to the next volumes within the same series.
