My formal teaching experience began at East Carolina University in my undergraduate years. I had the opportunity to work as an instructor for the Jazz Track at the ECU Summer Music Camp for four years before I moved on to graduate school at Peabody Conservatory. Additionally I've taught many private lessons in North Carolina and York Pennsylvania. I have been teaching since my undergrad years starting in 2001 as adjunct faculty at Walnut Ridge Elementary School until 2004. Since then I have taught privately at students homes part time. I believe that weekly lessons are the most beneficial for a students learning and productivity. I also believe that a combination of encouragement, praise, and level appropriate music, be it classical, method books, or popular music are imperative for success in learning music and enjoying it. I first taught part-time Flute and Solfeggio classes at music schools while I was in collage. After I finished my Bachelor's in flute performance, I taught full-time at Lorec Antoni music school. During that time I was the principal flautist at the City Symphonic Orchestra - Modus, were I performed all around the region. I played as a member as well as a soloist.
