I tailor each of my lessons to the needs and desires of each individual. I am fond of using method books such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or Bruce Peterson's Standard of Excellence (or, with school children in a band program, whatever their method book may be), but I also like to bring separate handouts or sheets of exercises, drills, and songs that I have created over the years. I love music and love sharing that with my students. I am classically trained and spent 3 years at Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY and finished my music performance degree at UCF in Florida. While at Crane, I doubled on flute and oboe and frequently played piccolo and English horn for concerts as well. I was originally in music education and have that background as well.
