I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. My teaching style is dynamic, grounded in known pedagogical methods, and tailored to every student's individual goals. My students have achieved many honors, including 'Superior' ratings at solo and ensemble festivals. I also believe while hard work and discipline are imperative to success, a young musician must also learn the skills of patience and self-compassion. Music is a wonderful way to learn self-discipline and self-motivation, and students can practice extending kindness to themselves and others as they go on this journey. Read More

I believe that anyone has the potential to be a talented musician, regardless of age, abilities, or former experience. I have helped 5 year old students with ADHD learn to focus during instruction, and I have helped students in their 40s learn a skill they never had a chance to learn as children. Read More
