My teaching experience began in college as I began to help teach some of my peers that were interested in taking up saxophone as a hobby. I realized immediately that I had a passion for connecting people to their passion for music and wanted to continue doing that. I eventually began to teach outside of school in the homes of interested students in the Washington, D.C. area. I always make sure to tailor each lesson specifically for each student. No person is the same, so no student will experience music the same way. I begin my time with my students by having them fill out a questionaire about what is most important to them. After this, I generally begin each lesson with highs and lows of the week in order to discover what is most exciting to the student and what is not. Read More

I tailor each lesson according to the students needs and do my best to instill in them a love for Music. During my five years at Play On Philly, an after school music program, I taught small group flute lessons and coached/arranged music for small chamber groups. I got a degree in music from NOVA Community College in 2012 and am working on my BM from George Mason in Music Education. I graduated from James Madison University where I studied with Carol Kniebusch Noe, played four years in the JMU Flute Choir and in the JMU Wind Symphony.
