I have been teaching in the NOVA area for a little over three years now. I started when I returned from out of state and have not looked back since. I have maintained a studio of about 10-15 students almost consistently after about a year of starting. My students have ranged widely in age, from elementary students to retired adults who have have wanted to learn an instrument. I was very involved with the Lusaka music community, were I performed every month as a soloist as well as part of the chamber orchestra. Later on we moved to Uganda, were I continued my journey teaching and performing. In Kampala I started working part time as an assistant music teacher and flute teacher at the International School of Uganda. I supplement some of the things in the book with other literature and hand written exercise to help enhance learning experience.
