I have been playing saxophone since elementary school and even focused my college studies around it, graduating with honors from Florida AM University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music. In addition to her studies at Vanderbilt, Blythe studied at the Institute of European Studies, in Vienna, Austria. There, she had the opportunity of working with Ulrike Anton, and with Barbara Gisler-Haase, at Universiteat fur Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. While an undergraduate, Blythe performed with various chamber ensembles and toured China with the university's orchestra.
