I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree my and a minor in recreation. My teaching began in the late 1990's as professional musician in the United States Marine Corps teaching new Marine Musicians how to double & triple tongue and play minor scales as well as Greek Modes.I enjoyed the challenge of teaching someone a skill or technique. Every lesson, I write memos about assignemnts, and student's progress compare to previous lesson/week. Therefore, students and parents will receive "Progress Results" in every four lessons. I teach through positive reinforcement and encouragement with a set structure that allows for discipline and certain benchmarks that can determine success and mastery of certain skills. I truly believe that when students are nurtured and given a comfortable space they will excel as creating music and art is vulnerable and requires the student to let go. I have volunteer experience doing 5 years of marching band and 2 of those 5 years, I was the section leader for the trumpet section. I also was an Intern as music teacher, student teaching, for 1 Semester of Senior year – 2017 – 2018. For my professional experience, I have done a few gigs on trumpet. I played at Messiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg OH as a Trumpet Player for their Easter services.(4/21/19) and (4/1/2018).
