I have a strong connection to music education. I was significantly affected by music teachers at a young age and benefited greatly from strong music education programs. I have taught lessons to many students over the past 9 years and have a great appreciation for the art of teaching. Variety is important to me, and I will introduce as many different styles and genres as possible. Introducing people to musical instruments is very important to me, for the educational and communicative skills inherent in performing music can translate to any facet of life. Read More

I'm a teacher and student at heart. I believe that at any level of learning support and encouragement are always better than just do it because I say so. This is the reason I left a scholarship from Berklee in the 90's to pursue my true passion; touring the world as a professional musician. I have seen a slice of life in my musical travels with the hundreds of artists I have worked with and I bring over 2 decades of experiences to every lesson, with every student, every time and I look forward to meeting new students who want to take the journey with me.. I have always loved music. I write and create music everyday. When I graduated high school I earned a band scholarship which allowed me to play in many different genres of music. I played in Big Jazz bands, Small Jazz combos, and pit orchestras. I toured with the Pittsburg State University Jazz Band and played timpani and snare for The Pittsburg State University Syphonic band. All four years. Fast Forward, in 2001 I placed an original piece of music in a film called "Punks". Read More

My teaching experience dates back to the year I graduated from Musicians Institute. One of my teachers offered his name as a reference to begin employment at M.I. as a T.A. As exciting as that sounded to me, I really felt it was time to spread my new knowledge away from Hollywood, and begin teaching where I live; in the Inland Empire. That same year, I began teaching drums within the Chino, Chino Hills, Ontario and Pomona school districts, as well as private lessons. Read More

This includes scales learned withing the Classical idiom as well as the Contemporary music idiom which includes all styles of music. Students regardless of their preferred style of music will be encouraged to learn some elementary classical music in order to facilitate and reinforce good technique, reading and interpretation. Drums: All drum students will begin by learning about stick control and proper posture. Read More

For all of my students I start by allowing them to sit and feel the kit. Building a strong trusting relationship is important. I then proceed to dive into teaching simple 4/4 grooves to loosen the student up which processes into teaching basic rhythm studies and eventually the concepts of feel, groove, dynamics and of course timing. As session continue I evaluate students knowledge with song learning lessons and with critiques that's being with the positives and lead into where work can be done to improve. Read More

I started teaching in 2018, soon after moving to LA a few weeks after I graduated from Berklee College Of Music. I started out teaching at music schools, and would often have up to 30 students in a week. I would have weekly lessons with my students, prepare them for their annual recitals, and communicate with parents after their child's progress. More recently I have been teaching in-person lessons at my student's houses, as well as doing virtual lessons, which has been a incredibly rewarding experience. Read More
