Every drum student receives personalized drum lessons designed to motivate, excite, challenge, and move the drum student at a steady and comfortable pace. No drum lesson is complete until the student has a full understanding of the concepts discussed and exercises assigned. Whether the student is a beginner, intermediate, advanced I will tailor the drum lessons to meet the student's goals and aspirations. Some student may want to learn rock beats to jam with their friends or to ultimately play professionally as a drummer, I can help show the way. Read More

The one book I use for my students is Ted Reed's "Progressive Steps to Syncopation For The Modern Drummer". I use this book for my own benefit on a daily basis. Its interpretation and application is limited only by the student's or instructor's imagination. This book is such a great resource for assisting the student in learning basic reading skills. Once the student becomes familiar with recognizing certain rhythmic sequences, It enables them to study and learn from other publications with an increased level of facility. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

As I said before, I like to teach as I was taught and add things I've learned along the way. Learning any instrument, I was told, is like building a house; you need to lay a strong foundation upon which to add walls, doors, windows, and decor (styles, techniques, feels, and your own personal strokes unique to each individual....there's no roof because you can never finish learning!). Drums especially focus on the base, because of their role in any musical group. Read More

In addition to my work with individual students, I have also made significant contributions to higher education. As an adjunct instructor at New York University, I took on the responsibility of drafting a comprehensive curriculum for my courses. This role not only honed my skills in curriculum development but also deepened my understanding of academic standards and the importance of a well-rounded music education. My curriculum design focused on integrating practical musicianship with theoretical knowledge, ensuring that students receive a balanced and enriching educational experience. Read More

I am a freelance drummer based in New York City, and I have been performing regularly since 2004. As a performer, I've been fortunate to gain valuable experience performing, touring and recording with numerous bands in varying genres, which has allowed me to travel the world to perform and teach. I have performed at a number of New York City's top jazz venues, including Dizzy's Club, Birdland Jazz Club, The Jazz Standard, The Jazz Gallery, Smalls Jazz Club, and others. Read More

One thing I strongly encourage is the student to go at his/her pace. There is no judgement on the capability of learning an instrument and because of that I completely understand how long (or how short) a student can learn the drums/piano etc. I try to make every student feel accomplished in a session especially when the material being taught is new and intimidating. But regardless, there will always be a sense of accomplishment because as long as the student feels as if they accomplished something(small or large) I will make it my duty to make sure they know it.
