I began teaching in my late teenage years through a summer program provide through my church. The program is a week long program for kids ages 4-18 and during the program I gave lessons to over 15 students. Shortly after, I began to advertise my ability to give private instruction. Going back to my first drum lesson takes us back 8 years into the year of 2012. I started teaching lessons as a casual event in my basement to local kids in my neighborhood. While this was taking place, I was not asking for any money whatsoever. Eventually, I started to build a community of well rounded musicians that were attaining success in my studio. As an educator it is my goal for students to be able to communicate through the language of music. Whether the student is a beginner or advanced, the first thing they will be taught is to listen and respond. Ive always believed that the best way to learn music is as if you are learning a foreign language. When learning a language, one is given a small amount of vocabulary, they learn what it means, and practice using it in conversations. Read More
