I am experienced professional mallet percussionist and bandleader with an emphasis on jazz and improvisation. In 2013, I was the first jazz vibraphonist be accepted in to The Juilliard School where I had the opportunity to mentor classical percussionists on how to improvise. Prior to Juilliard, I first attended Oklahoma City University studying music education/percussion performance. I have been playing the drums since age 10. Starting out playing rock and roll but quickly started playing Jazz, Latin, Samba, and Show Tunes. After graduating high school, I went to attend Montclair State University's Jazz program. Nothing is more rewarding in my teaching than watching a student enjoy making progress and exceeding the expectations that others have set for them. My favorite moment in the teaching process is witnessing the excitement of a student who has just performed above and beyond even the goals and epectations I had set for them to accomplish in a period of time. I am a Latin Jazz vibraphonist and popular percussionist with a background in classical percussion. I also hold a degree from Berklee College of Music, where I have spent the last four years studying performance and production. Most recently I produced and lead a group based in New York and Boston. I performed in the Martinique Jazz and Ecuador Jazz festival I studied in a classical conservatory for 8 years and had the opportunity to assist to Interlochen Center for The arts and also studied cuban percussion in La Havana - Cuba at the age of 15.
