I am a successful instructor, drummer and musician who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping sudents acheive thier musical goals. I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz / Commercial music performance. After college I spent years honing my playing skills in all types of musical situations as well as teaching, and working as a recording engineer. My first paid show was when I was 9 years old and got to play percussion for Chuck Mangione. I made $200 and I was hooked. I knew this what I had to be doing. I've toured the united stated with Buckets and tap Shoes and other artists, toured Japan in 2012 and was given the opportunity to play at the famous Blue Note, Body and Soul and other jazz clubs. In my lessons I use snare drum method books such as Mitchell Peters Intermediate Book or Stick Control by George Stone to teach reading and basic hand technique.  Once I feel the student is proficient in reading and technique I move on to drumset coordination books as well as learning drum parts to the students favorite music.  I also teach techniques for xylophone, tympani and other classical percussion instruments.  I have an extensive library of music books and techniques so if one method doesn't work I have no problem customizing my lesson plan to fit the student's need. I always try to make my classes fun and engaging. I manage a very particular teaching method based on how I have learned from my mentors. On the first class I ask what the student's interest is and what would make him/her happy to learn, how the student imagines playing and what styles of music are the favorites ones.
