I began teaching private lessons in 2018 for double bass, electric bass, jazz theory, repertoire and improvisation. After graduating from Berklee I began teaching bass for the Hopkinton Music Association, a non-profit supporting music education in Hopkinton Public Schools. In 2023 I was hired as a music teacher for Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio and Karen Amlaw Music, where I taught bass, oboe, and English horn. I've taught in a myriad of environments. My earliest goes back to instructing marching band/indoor percussion programs. My most recent marching program was Fusion Drum Bugle Corps. My college studies helped me branch out musically, and thus I started dabbling in private instruction which I found very fulfilling. Since I started working professionally as a drummer at the age of 17, I have had the chance to perform in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, in some of the most prestigious live music venues, festivals and theaters around the globe. I have collaborated on projects with many bands and musicians across all genres from jazz to funk, rock, pop, flamenco, tango, world music and classical music. Since 2005 I have been a percussionist with the National Dance Academy in Italy, and I am currently playing for the Juilliard Dance Department in New York and the Merce Cunningham Trust in New York. For beginning students I start them on practice pads so they can get used to holding and playing with drum sticks. From there I teach the fundamentals of drumming, which are rudiments and reading while also teaching them easier songs on the drum set that they love. As an educator, I strive to provide my students with the tools that they will need to explore the direction that they want to take with their instrument. This can include from enjoying drumming as a hobby, performing in small jazz ensembles, recording electronic and acoustic drums in major recording studios, to performing with a full orchestra! My focus is to get my hobbyists to enjoy performing drums in the comfort of their own home or with friends, and to have my professionally-minded students go out into the world of performing and recording music. I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and improviser who is equally passionate about teaching music as I am about playing it. I graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Composition and Music Technology from the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College.I perform often as both a solo vocalist and technologist and with my experimental RnB group The Pluto Moons.
