I'm originally from Iowa, went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and have lived in Nashville for a little over two years. I have been playing drums all my life, starting on pots and pans and eventually graduating to bigger and better things. Every student is different. The first lesson I get a read on my student, and find out what music makes them excited. I also find out what their goals are with music. For example, some students may want to be better for school band, and some students may just want to be able to pay with their favorite songs. For a beginning student on voice or drums, fundamentals will be incorporated into their warm-ups each lesson and throughout the week. Each student has a reason for wanting to take lessons and incorporating that into the lessons will give the student more drive to practice.
