i've been playing drums for 17 years. I am originally from New York where I worked as a drummer, educator, and then a professional in the music products industry. I graduated from Five Towns in 2009 with a bachelors degree in Jazz Commercial Music. I do not have formal homework for students under 8. For students 10 years old and older I have a strict policy of teaching Music Theory including basic scales, rhythms, notation and triads. Drum tabs and beat charts are also covered; but my goal is create a well rounded musician which many drummers are not. My teaching style consists of compassion, patience and developing discipline for ones instrument little by little. Nothing is pushed, but my philosophy is "bit by bit." I want the student to be able to be challenged at the same time having fun and enjoying their instrument.
