The most rewarding part of teaching is watching the student master something they have worked hard on. I feel it is important for each student to develop his or her own musical identity. Having confidence in their ability, and reaching a level of comfort with the instrument I feel helps them develop both as a musician and in other parts of their lives. The lessons are designed to meet their individual needs so i can help each student progress at their own pace. Read More

My methods vary depending on student age, ability and goals with the instrument. I believe no everybody learn the same way so I adapt to find the best, most efficient and fun path to teach my students. For Children I like to emphasize the importance of the fundamentals and technique through fun exercises and simple tunes they can play along to. As the student progreses and grows more interest in the instrument, which I guarantee they will, classes will start to get more challenging. Read More

I understand that all students do not learn the same way. So, I am prepared to teach every student through auditory, visual, or written instructions, or a combination of those methods. I believe that it important for a student to learn how to read music, but I also understand that not all students will have this interest. I am a patient, encouraging, and fun teacher! It is very rewarding to me to see my students progress and build their interest in their instrument that will hopefully last a lifetime. Read More

The main books that I like to work on for a beginner student are stick control by George Lawrence Stone Realistic Rock written by Carmine Appice I also do a lot of work with the 40 drum rudiments also I find it very enjoyable to use books by Chaz w i l k o z I have also written a book which has many many contemporary drum pills about time and many of the Great drummers styles which I will use to teach I also like to use transcriptions from some of the favorite recordings of all time led Zeppelin Rush and many other popular bands of our time you can ask you as a student can decide on which bands and which drummers that you want to cover I also enjoy working with great play alongs music minus one tracks that are very very cool to play without the drums so you can get an idea of how to actually play with a band Read More

A New York native and life-long professional drummer, I played Dvorak at Carnegie Hall, punk and ska music at CBGB's and classic rock at Wetlands in NYC all during high school. After furthering my studies in percussion performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I founded progressive jazz quartet Schleigho, hit the road in 1991 and toured nationally until 2004 , releasing 5 CD's and playing over 3000 shows with the likes of jazz great John Scofield, funk legend Maceo Parker and rock icons The Allman Bothers Band, who signed them in 1998 to their record label, Flying Frog Records. I started playing drums over 15 years ago and having been teaching professionally for 10 years. I started teaching at age 13 for The Town Of Babylon Summer Music Program. After several years of teaching there I moved on to teaching full time privately with students ranging from ages 7 - 35. I have helped my students obtain high scores on NYSSMA, as well as grow as musicians and help them to form bands and play live in front of audiences. Read More

I've been teaching since my first few semesters of college when my step-father (also a drum instructor) asked me to consult for him with his drumline at Arch Bishop Wood High School in Pennsylvania.  From that experience I began teaching private lessons throughout college.  Immediately after graduation I began teaching in a formal music school in Ardmore PA where I was able to teach students from ages 4-60 years old. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
