I am passionate about teaching, and want my students to succeed. I have been playing clarinet since I was 10 years old, and the saxophone for 40 years. I am a graduate of the Hartt School, where I majored in Jazz Studies, with saxophone performance. I have played in bands on cruise ships, performed in Latin, Rock, Jazz and RB Bands. I have been teaching music since I attended high school and have continued to do so for the past 6 years. Improvisation and expression are key points I like to emphasize in all my students, as anyone can sit down and practice scales until their fingers fall off, but being able to express yourself through a musical instrument takes dedicated work and direction. I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I am a very active musician that has an innate love of teaching. I started playing the clarinet at age 10 and quickly gained interest in playing more than just one instrument. Fast forward to high school, where I am playing Tuba in the marching band, clarinet in the concert band, and saxophone in the jazz band; this is where I know I wanted to share my passion for others. I hold a BA in Music from the University of Connecticut where I studied clarinet, as well as played brass in the marching band, and saxophone in the jazz ensemble. Read More

Over the past decade I have performed with world-renowned performers and conductors all over the world. I have performed recital, chamber, concerto, and orchestral repertoire. At Indiana University I performed solo recitals, concertos, chamber music, and in orchestra. In addition to earning a minor degree in historical clarinet performance I earned a Performer's certificate for outstanding student recitals. Currently, I am a student at Yale pursuing an MM degree.
