I have experience teaching all ages and skill levels including very young first timers up to experienced adults. My very first clarinet teaching experience was when I was in college. I taught a small class of music majors who were required to earn a woodwind proficiency. Since they were all music majors, there was no need to teach theory - just fingering, embouchure and technique. I am very flexible when it comes to method books.  I try and work with any materials that may be required by the student's school.  For older students, I tend to use standard method books such as Rose, Klose, Polatscheck, Baerman and a few others based on the student's needs.  I also have many exercises that dont require books.  I often play in lessons or bring recordings to offer an example. My teaching experience started while serving in the army as a saxophone, oboe, and clarinet player. The local music store referred middle school and high school students to me. I like to start students out with what they are already working on. If they are preparing for a concert in school or have a certain method book, that's where I assess their skills.
