My teaching experience started as a clarinet instructor in an after school program with students from 5th to 12th grade. I have taught for 15 years in the after school music program system in addition to maintaining a private clarinet studio with students of different ages and skill levels. It has been very rewarding to witness my students excelling in their musical journey. This requires two important aspects: development of technique/facility on one's instrument, and a sense of acheiving one's personal musical goals. I try to give every student basic exercises to work on to develop facility on their given instrument, but I tailor those exercises towards music that the student has expressed interest in learning.
