Every student is unique in their ability level, dedication to the instrument/craft, et. al; therefore, I cannot expect that every student will be the next Larry Combs. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years, 8 years ago, when I was a section leader for my marching band and I got to teach marching routines and lead sectionals for my section. Later, at my undergraduate degree, I got hired at three different middle and high schools to teach private lessons and give master classes. I currently teach students at Westmont Junior High, Westmont High School, Downers Grove South High School, and at all Lincoln-Way High Schools. I love helping my students grow their confidence and motivation, showing them what a little bit of effort and some passion can accomplish! Encouraging practice habits that promote mental and physical health is at the core of teaching style. I want my students to have fun while they learn, and surprise themselves at how far they can come! Read More

Well I realized many years later that it just didn't work that way. I had to practice the scales because just like professional sports teams work on fundamentals all the time to keep playing well, so do musicians need to work on fundamentals. Read More
