My teaching style involves tailoring my lessons to each student's specific needs with an emphasis on ear-training and proper instrument technique. I like to get going on music that moves the student as quickly as possible, so we will use music that is of high interest to the student to develop the ear, learn a bit of theory, and put in the work that will allow the student to really unlock their instrument. My teaching experience began with my Masters in Music Education, where I skills to present material in a clear way, while setting achievable goals. I also learned to work with students with special needs in the Boston Conservatory Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum program, where I was a founding staff member. I have been teaching private lessons for over ten years, and it is truly my passion. I love working one on one with students to achieve their goals and have fun learning! Read More

Yearning a deep and fulfilled interest in classical music has enabled me to uniquely interpret classical music on a complex analytical music level & compositionally dissecting music. I am patient and active with each of my students. I allow the student their own preference as to how lessons are to be arranged (e.g YOU pick the music = YOU decide your pace)...I encourage my students to practice and come prepared with material they either have ambition to learn and all the other little steps involved in being diligent with an instrument. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I strive to find an individual approach to each student and it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. While daily practice is necessary for quicker progress, not every student has the time for it. So I teach my students how to use the time allocated for personal practice more effectively and how to develop good practice habits. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 18 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

The most rewarding thing as a teacher is passing on my love of music to my students. Music is one of the most important things in my life and has opened me up to the world. Because of music I have met people from all walks of life and that has helped me to become a more loving and compassionate person. Lessons should be a safe, fun and encouraging space for students to grow not only as musicians but as people. Read More

I am friendly and encouraging; I believe that everybody moves at their own pace and strive to help my students make progress. I believe in a goal-oriented mindset; sometimes I like to help students by creating practice guidelines for them to follow in between lessons. I also enjoy giving listening recommendations and the conversations that ensue - by discovering what a student likes or dislikes, I can have a clearer sense of his or her musical personality.
