Every student is an individual and learns differently, so I strive to develop exercises and practice approaches that work for the particular student I'm working with. I always try to mix compliments and constructive criticism in my teaching. I encourage my students to record themselves throughout the week so that I can give feedback between lessons. I have the most experience teaching beginner students with the Suzuki method. The main focus of Dr. Suzuki’s method is teaching from a place of love and encouragement. I find this method teaches the technical fundamentals of cello playing while keeping the students progressing at rate suitable for their individual needs.
