I started singing professionally at age 15. Through the years I have taught both private voice and piano lessons. I have also taught at Elbert County Charter School grades kindergarten through the 8th grade in general music education. For young beginners I start with a wonderful method book called "Progressive Piano method for young beginners". It begins with note reading which I feel is one of the most important parts of beginner piano playing. The book includes a play-along cd that I use for rhythm practice during lessons to clap and count, because having a steady rhythm is the second most important aspect of playing the piano. I took guitar with Michael Engberg there for two years and also took fundamentals of music, music business, music technology, and a song writing class. I transferred over to Metropolitan State University of Denver and began my Bachelors degree sequence under the wing of Alex Komodore. I graduated from Metro in May 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Classical Guitar Performance, and the experience thus far has been amazing. I have taught several students while I was studying music. I won the third place of the Taipei City Competition of Music among many outstanding competitors in 2015. On the other hand, I strived for the chance of participating in many performances. In 2014, I performed Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 with the local orchestra in Hualien. I implement a combination of the Faber method, Alfred method, and compilations of works by talented piano pedagogs such as Keith Snell, Martha Ashleigh, Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield, Melody Bober, and Julie McIntosh Johnson. I have studied at Berklee, New England Conservatory, and UT Austin, and performed at the highest levels of the industry, including making Hip Hop tracks for Warner Brothers in my 20s, touring with funk/rock, latin, and jazz acts around the world, playing in top wedding bands and directing music at churches. I teach using Zoom, with an overhead cam and face cam, and record all lessons for accessing after the lessons as well. Read More
