I completed my Master's degree at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the guidance of Prof. Tamara Gabarashvili (Tchaikovsky competition 5th prize 1966). Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." More than anything else, I try to grow a love for the cello and music, because without a passion, lessons can be a drag (trust me, I know!). I try to incorporate some of the student's other interests into the lessons, ie. pop music, art, even science! For beginning students, I typically start with Suzuki repertories with classical cello training. I have received Suzuki training at Cleveland of the Institute of Music. I emphasize on scales and etudes which are foundations for cello playing. In addition, I will begin to introduce a solo repertoire appropriate for their first performance.
