Since moving to Texas, I have started orchestra programs at two different schools in Dallas county, while continuing to build my own studio. I was brought up classically trained on the Suzuki books but I am completely flexible. If you have or have heard of a set of books you like we can use that too. If you don't know how to read music we can focus part of the lesson on music theory and the rest on learning from recordings and playing by ear. While I do teach using standard, classical repertoire more often than not, my goal as a teacher is to help my students develop a deep love and passion for music; hence, I often find it incredibly helpful to branch out into other genres! I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. I went on to get my Master's degree at Georgia State University and then returned to Louisiana State University for my final degree in Cello Performance. Read More
