I'm currently in multiple bands including a Classic Rock cover band and a Latin band (Rock, Funk, Reggae, Ska, Cumbia). Depending on the answer, I may start the student with tape on the fretboard, under the strings, outlining the chords for a guitar player. I have been teaching private lessons for the past 4 years to my college peers and younger family members. I feel the two most important aspects of teaching for both the student and the teacher are repitition and patience.
